Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire

The production on this album is surprisingly awful. Exocrine is an extraordinary band, but I never would have picked this up outside of a label sub. Maelstrom would be another masterpiece if it didn’t have lawn sprinklers going off throughout every track. Thankfully they didn’t make the same mistakes again. Metallurgical Fire

When the production is bearable, Exocrine is probably the best tech death band in the world. This and Molten Giant are two of the best records in the genre. The last album had some real production defects that kicked me out (lawn sprinkler drum sound), but The Hybrid Suns is everything you could want in a tech death album. So unbelievably intricate and yet so much fun. It’s impossible to pick a favorite track. Metallurgical Fire
